Footwear Fashions 2012/2013
It always seems to come around too quickly, and there is never any escaping it (- except for the mega rich). What are we talking about? Winter, of course! With the nights getting darker and the thermostat falling, it won’t be long until we are practically hibernating from the cold, harsh, climate. There is one exception to this hibernation: the fashionista. They love this time of year—they love all times of year, each bringing their own twist to the occasion—because winter means that it is time to dust off the winter boots. It gives an excuse to dress cosily, but also fashionably too, and there is no greater combination.
Out with our summer sandals, our ballerina shoes, and our low cuts. The weather will never allow us to carry on in that vein. Besides, even if we did, people would think we were loony! No, it’s out with our summer wardrobes and in with our winter wardrobe; and the most important items of our winter wardrobe: our winter boots. After all, we all know that shoes make the outfit! The fashionista know this, at any rate.

So what’s hot and what’s not for winter 2012/2012?
Well, for a change, we won’t be seeing much from the Ugg-style boot this season. As a country, the UK is thoroughly bored of this fashion now and it’s time for a change.
We think that the next biggest trend in casual shoes is going to be the slouch effect, leather, and ankle boot. You can see plenty of these on the market at present. They are being made by many of the leading brands of footwear: Irregular Choice, Blowfish, Dr Martens, etc.
Clearly, winter means wearing winter colours. However, this does not mean that you have to stick to browns, greys and blacks, but rather, that you need to stick to darker variations of colour. For example, rather than opting for bright red, opt for a darker, cherry red.
