When Boots Were Made For Walking

The father and daughter hit song of the nineteen seventies saw the girl wearing boots that looked just like the ones we always associated with cowboys.

They were heavily engraved and patterned and were knee high.

Today cowboy boots are much more akin to ankle boots and they are certainly a great deal more comfortable looking.

Many of these boots that come in all colours and frequently with studs and straps are the high end fashion that attracts all ages of women. From the studded Chelsea to the studded harness you can get an idea of the chunky shape and appearance.

Many women find these boots extremely comfortable and find they enjoy wearing them with all types of clothing from jeans to shorts, from skirt to dress.

Cowboys wore boots in the old days of the West for several reasons and no good western film would forget to put the hero in knee high cowboy leather boots with the added extra of spurs.

Looking through this particular selection of boots it is obvious they all have a good size platform. That is to say that the heels are nearly all around four square inches and the ball of the foot is also allowed plenty of space.

This makes them the antithesis of most high heels where the object seems to be to squeeze the foot in a small area and have the whole weight of the body resting on a couple of square centimetres.

The emphasis this year with women’s shoes is on style and plenty of comfort. With these boots there is plenty of both those ingredients.

As you might expect, the two natural materials of leather and suede predominate to produce a good looking boot and to keep the line looking smooth there is plenty of use of side zips.

To add variety there are as many clear and classic boots with as little extra as possible as there are boots with plenty of chunky straps, studs and buckles.

If you like your boots you will want to feast your eyes on this selection.
