Watch Out For Trapped Heels
High heels can make even the most ordinary legs look sexy and there is no doubt that men appreciate watching a good looking woman in heels as much as she enjoys the attention it brings.
The downside is that in every hospital around the country on a Friday and Saturday night there is likely to be at least one slightly or totally inebriated girl with a badly twisted or even broken ankle caused by excessively high heels.
Some doctors despair at the way some of these girls try to laugh off a broken ankle as the pain will hit them in the morning and worst of all it is unlikely they will ever be able to wear heels again and it is also likely that sometime in the future when they are much older it will come back to haunt them in the form of arthritis.
The British Transport Police have just issued an online video showing real cases of girls getting heels caught in the escalator and coming a cropper.
Once a stiletto heel gets stuck in the small space between the moving steps it is almost impossible to pull it back out. Some of the video footage looks horrific as girls fall over and are effectively drawn up the escalator by their trapped heel.
But enough of the horrors and on with the real pleasure of high heel shoes. There cannot be many women around who do not have at least a couple of pairs of heels in the wardrobe. The only differences will be in the height of the heel and the shape of the toe.
Shoe designers are constantly coming out with lighter weighted and thinner strapped heels which presumably must take a lot of testing.
With some of these designers the cost runs into many hundreds of pounds a pair and when you do the boring maths and work out the pounds per square inch exerted on a heel just a quarter of an inch or so square it is a wonder they do not break more often.
